Technology architecture, built from engineering.

Architecting the systems behind modern enterprises.

I’m Wen Liu, a Lead Engineer in Auckland working across cloud, data, integration and AI. I turn complex enterprise problems into architecture that teams can understand, govern and deliver.

Move through the system Architecture connects everything.
Architecture connects everything.

Business intent, technical decisions, governance and delivery brought into one coherent direction.

My point of view

Strategy without delivery becomes a slide. Delivery without architecture becomes debt. The value is in connecting both.

What I help make possible

Four ways I shape technology.

Not a list of services. A set of outcomes I repeatedly work toward.

01 Platform modernisation

Modernise without losing control.

Cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code and CI/CD - introduced through transition paths that respect security and operations.

02 Integration

Connect the enterprise.

APIs, events and reusable integration patterns across modern and legacy systems.

03 Data & AI governance

Make trust part of the design.

Guardrails, ownership, lifecycle controls and reusable patterns for data and AI platforms.

04 Architecture communication

Make complex systems feel clear.

I use decision models, visual stories and pragmatic language to help technical and non-technical people align on the same direction.

Choose a challenge.
See how I think.

Turn AI capability into an enterprise platform.

Shape project boundaries, workload patterns, access controls and lifecycle governance so teams can build with speed without losing oversight.

The challenge

Enable data wrangling and ML across domains while preserving ownership, security and enterprise alignment.

The design move

Use governed profiles, standard blueprints, account boundaries and repeatable workload patterns.

The architecture notebook

Ideas are easier to use when they are visible.

A future home for diagrams, decision notes and practical explanations. The first three themes are already taking shape.

Beyond the architecture

I like building things that exist outside a slide deck.

Hiking creates distance from complexity. Home automation satisfies the need to tinker. DIY and woodworking keep problem-solving physical, imperfect and real.

01

Hiking

Long trails. Clearer thinking.

02

Home automation

Small systems, immediate feedback.

03

DIY & making

Design becomes tangible.

Connect

Good systems begin with good conversations.

I enjoy exchanging ideas about cloud platforms, data architecture, integration, AI governance and the practical craft of enterprise delivery.

01 · Foundation

I started close to the data.

Building pipelines, data models and enterprise reporting taught me that every architecture decision eventually meets operational reality.

02 · Connection

Then the systems had to talk.

Integration work expanded the view: APIs, events, customer platforms and legacy systems are less about individual tools and more about dependable relationships.

03 · Platform

Now I shape the environment around delivery.

Cloud, data and AI platforms need boundaries, patterns and guardrails that make the right way of working easier for every team.

04 · Today

The craft is connecting strategy to implementation.

My focus is architecture that is ambitious enough to move an organisation forward and pragmatic enough to survive contact with delivery.
